This is my Lakeside Heights Medical Plaza. It's in the same style and shape as the old one, but turned sideways (which allowed me to make it much larger!), and with a parking lot in the back. Berjes actually owned that whole building before, but I had him sell it and this new one will be owned by the county. He'll still have his cosmetic surgery offices there though, as will a few other practices.
Berjes - cosmetic and reconstructive surgery
Jodie - women's health, with a birthing center for low-risk pregnancies
Mariah - therapy and counseling
And Justin's mom, Cynthia, in family medicine and pediatrics

I'll still finish off my hospital eventually, but I'll likely fill it out as needed. At the very least, I know Berjes will have an office there. High risk pregnancies (like twins, or complications) will still be born in the hospital setting. Waiting rooms are always handy for story settings, lol!
(Does anyone know of an animation or pose box that plays the birthing animation for use on a community lot?)

(I know, need to move the track back a bit, so that the fence isn't impaling the train 'n stuff, lol!)

So I actually meant to start my LCU and school renovations, but got sidetracked on this other stuff first instead ;)
And random funny...

Sorry Berjes, welcome to having a teenage daughter!
Absolutely LOVE the train station, that's what I've always wanted in my hood, (a place they could stand) but it never occurred to me to build it, with the train set being right there. I always forget those can overlap lots. Your train station and medical center look really great.
ReplyDeleteWhere I've always lived, like everything is at the hospital. (smaller population, ranging for 50-70,000 so maybe that's why?) My OB wasn't originally but they built an entire new birthing unit at the hospital, and offices for her group, and I know it makes her life easier between appointments and going up a floor to see patients.
LOL! Hazel is so funny, wow, poor Berjes. I like the train station very nice. I might have to get to work on adding one to my hood since I plan on having Samantha B and company arrive via train. Hmmm, if I put an extra room in the station to resemble the inside of a train, then I could shoot scenes in there as well.
ReplyDeleteOh, that is so cool! I download a train station once and then did nothing with it. You've inspired me to check it out and see what I can do.
ReplyDeleteYour medical centre is so awesome too. I love the little seating area over the driveway. A hospital my grandmother stayed in once had something like that. How do you decide who's going to have complications? Roll of the dice? Whatever seems to work for the story? I can't remember which of your Sims, if any, have had complications so I'm curious. :)
Both these lots are going to be such great sets for the story.
Wow, look at that sad face on Berjes! Hazel looks like she's kind of revelling in torturing her poor old dad!
The Train Station looks great! I can definitely see lots of train station cameos in the future with that awesome of a train station :P
ReplyDeleteThe Medical Center looks amazing too. Smaller ones are sometimes nicer, because you can get care faster and you get more one-on-one with your doctor or nurse or whoever you're dealing with, so that wouldn't really bother me.
Haha, oh Berjes. You're going to have to let her date sometime, or she might start sneaking out on you!
Smaller lots are always better than bigger ones, when you intend to actually use them, I mean. This one looks great!
ReplyDeleteYou know, I remember seeing something about that birthing animation but it was a very long time ago, and it was not an animation I had any interest in downloading. Doubt I can track it down but I'll try.
Maisie, thanks! I almost have the train station done, and hopefully I should finish off the decorating and be able to duplicate it around the hood, lay the tracks, and be finished! I feel like I have trains coming out my ears, lol!
ReplyDeleteApple, thanks! Oooh, that's a great idea, to simulate the inside of the train in a room! You could totally do that!
Carla, I haven't had any complicated pregnancies so far that weren't flat out glitches - Aurora Harris lost a baby over a glitch once :( But then I also recently installed a miscarriage mod, so there may be complications with future pregnancies.
God, I feel so twisted and morbid for installing a miscarriage mod, when my Sims didn't currently have to deal with that. But you know, it happens in real life, so it happens here too. Because apparently, I am twisted and morbid like that, lol!
Tessa, thanks! I'm totally going to have to find reasons to set stories at train stations, for all this hard work, lol!
I feel bad for poor Berjes too, lol! He's totally not happy about letting Hazel date! But she's coming up on fifteen pretty fast, and he can't stop her forever. Though I'll gladly let him put his foot down a while longer if it'll keep her from dating Angelo (and yes, she's still kind of hung up on him...) She's actually lucky she's not allowed to date, I think.
Beth, I agree completely! Especially better for taking pictures. My graphics card craps out at anything bigger than about a 3x3 lot. The very large lots do look nice as hood decoration though.
Oh cool, good to hear there is actually one out there. I'll try to dig around for it too.
Carla, here's a pregnancy complication for you, lol! Bella is actually maxed out on her hours right now, on her lot, and I can't pause her pregnancy anymore because she's actually kind of started the labor process in game. I just have her paused, waiting for it to actually be TIME for her to give birth - she has another 5 months left!
ReplyDeleteBut I keep forgetting, lol! And anytime I go into her house to do whatever, I almost unpause accidentally, which would be bad at only 4 months pregnant!
So I guess you could say she's in danger of having a preemie right now. Maybe she ought to go on bedrest for the story! ;)
I love the train station. Your Medical and train station are very realistic. They are needed for storyline. I wish you could make one for TS 3 so I can used it for my game ;)
ReplyDeleteHow do you get your sims to do therapy and counseling because I want mine to be able to do that it sounds so cool. I have a hospital mod already but having a clinic for therapy would be a good addition to my neighborhood
ReplyDeleteThere's only really one in-game interaction that would represent counseling, and that's the "couples counseling" that came with Freetime, I think. Otherwise it's really just for story. I usually sit a Sim down with my therapist, and watch their speech bubbles to see what they're talking about.
ReplyDeleteYou could also have your Sim learn some of the other skills like "lifelong happiness" if you wanted, or "anger management" to represent their progress.
thanks :)
