happy birthday to you...

November 2081 - Welcome to Lakeside Heights: Aaron, Emily, Hunter, Flint, and Delilah!

Jack and Nessa Phoenix had a very romantic final date last month, while they waited for their son to make his much awaited appearance. And it's a good thing, because romance is going to be the last thing on their minds for a while!

curiouser and curiouser

October 2081 - Nathan Lind is 31, "Ally" is 28, Bianca is 4, Julia is 2. (Maxwell Shaw is 35.) Last update, December 2078.

He calls her Ally now, five years and two kids after their wedding. Eight years after they'd met. She never had a nickname before, but she likes it. It makes her feels special to him. And special to everyone since it's caught on. She is Ally to everyone now - unlike Allegra, who was shy and lonesome, Ally is warm and soft and the grounding force for this little Lind family.

Lake County Business Directory

*** This is currently a big fat work-in-progress! Just another database for the sidebar, and I thought you all might be interested to see what businesses my Sims own.

Rather than posting pictures of each business (because that would be a crazy job!), I'll just be linking to whatever picture I happen to already have from an update, even if that's only an interior shot of somebody working. I don't want this to become too massive. Business profiles and pictures will be updated as I make my way through the rounds ;) ***

one day, at Deppiesse's...

October 2081 (mini-update) - Lucy Harris is 15.

One day at Deppiesse's Lakefront Bistro, Lucy Harris gets a job. She never wanted to have a job, but she's no trust-fund baby, so she needs to work!

Dallas sets her up with his Aunt Ashlee, and Lucy goes to interview for a waitress job at the restaurant. Lucy is pretty, and she has that sparkling kind of personality, so Ashlee thinks she'll do well as a waitress, and hires her on the spot...

headcount

September 2081 - Phoenix McCullough is 42, Brooke is 40, Fiona is 14, Robbie is 11, Connor is 4. (Liza Hathe is 13.) Last update, July 2080.

*** note: I borked Robbie, lol! I had to age him up to fix it, but keep in mind, he is still supposed to be 11 and in fifth grade. We'll just imagine he had an early growth-spurt ;) ***

*** note #2: and this is LONG! ***

Brooke and Phoenix McCullough try to steal a minute of peace in the bathroom - where else might you find a minute of peace with three kids in the house? But then there is Fiona in the background, except Fiona comes with a force that could never remain in the background. "Mooooooom!!! Robbie's hogging the bathroom and I need to PEE! I'm telling you, I will NOT be happy if I piss myself!!! And I would make YOU clean it up - except that you WOULDN'T because nobody cleans a DAMN thing in this ungodly foul house!!!"

Brooke would like to mention that there are four bathrooms in this house, and only five people living in it, two of which are married to each other - you do the math.

2081, we don't need no education!

Hazel says, "Look, Mom, I grew boobs!"

Let's see who all grew up for this school year...

last year

This week, one year ago, it was October of 2074 in Lakeside Heights. Also around this time, three years ago, it was the year 2006, and Lakeside Heights was born. Now let that boggle your mind! ;)

One year has passed since I've been blogging Lakeside Heights. When we started, the Jackson twins had just turned twelve - Beau already had his eye set on taking over his father's arcade and Tyler had his eye set on Bella Bradshaw (and didn't they all...). Dallas Deppiesse went under the knife in the name of teenaged conformity (would Lucy still love him if he hadn't done it?). And Meadow Lind was jonesing for some grandbabies (now she has three!).

They've all come a long way, and so has this blog. I've learned to turn off my plumbbobs and headlines. I've learned how to screen-cap, and install lighting and camera mods, post bigger pictures and host them at photobucket. And I learned it all from reading your blogs, so thank you!

Happy Birthday to Lakeside Heights. Thank you for indulging me with my silly stories. I've had a lot of fun sharing them with you all :)

outshine

August 2081 - Sheldon and Alana Fortney are 49, Melissa is 14. (Lucy Harris is 15.) Last update, September 2079.

This is actually a story about love, in a twisted kind of way. A very powerful love and a lot of fateful choices.

In her life, Alana has learned that there are no right or wrong choices, just the ones you make, and the ones you don't. From every choice brings forth a lifetime of consequences, further choices and more consequences. Was her marriage to Sheldon a mistake, or just a choice? It's hard to call some choices mistakes - if not for this very choice, she wouldn't have her daughter Melissa.

July 2081 - Carly Cook is 28, Piper Wilson is 26, Jodie Larson is 25. // Jason Larson is 30, Amelia Bradshaw is 25. // George McCarthy is 26, Blossom Moonshine is 22. Last update, May 2080.

*** eeek, this is long ***

"Those are pretty," Amelia says. "Did Hayden send them?"

"Yeah, we're on fire, I'm telling you."

summer song

June 2081 - Patrick Nova is 30, Lara is 28, Raine is 2 1/2. Last update, April 2080.

They're cousins, you know, closer than any other family he has. Jackson just walks over anytime he wants from next door. They're best friends, like brothers even. But Patrick gets kind of touchy when people mess around with his baby grand. Lara even knows better. Patrick says, "Dude, you're using my piano!"

Jackson says, "Sorry man, did you want to play? I figured you spent all day playing, maybe you wanted a break or something?"

too hot for words

May 2081 - (2080/81 school year update)

The Lakeside Heights school district is bursting at the seams this year, as it usually is. But with the Lake City Building nearing completion and scheduled to open on time for the 81/82 school year, that should help thin things out a bit. Not so much for these families, but for the incoming crowd, a large group of young families in Lake City who have chosen not to send their children to Lakeside Heights schools. But this is a good thing, because there isn't really room for many more here.

LCU, normal, simple, happy, part 3

LCU, spring semester, 2081 (part 3 of 3)

The suit is just a gag, because Micah is often silly like that. He found it at the back of his storage locker when he was packing up, and he figures he'll get one last laugh out of everybody before he leaves campus. He certainly doesn't plan on wearing the damn thing all day or anything!

LCU, normal, simple, happy, part 2

LCU, spring semester, 2081 (part 2 of 3)

On the morning of their final exams, Micah comes upon a startling scene, his girlfriend sitting and having a conversation with Blossom, his ex-girlfriend from freshman year. "What are you doing here?" he says.

"Oh, you know, I was just spilling all your dirty secrets," Blossom says. "Just kidding! Dude, don't freak out or anything!"

Good thing Micah doesn't have any dirty secrets, he doesn't think. Or none that Mariah doesn't already know.

LCU, normal, simple, happy, part 1

LCU, spring semester, 2081 (part 1 of 3)

May starts out chilly this year, so with thoughts of warm apple cider in her head, Keri is inclined to plant an apple tree. Of course, Keri didn't actually plant the tree. She hired gardeners to do that. She just likes to lounge underneath it. And Mariah has some sun-ripened tomatoes in mind for a nice juicy salad, but she does plant those herself. Keri doesn't lift a finger. We really shouldn't be surprised at that.
