meet the Jackson family

October, 2074, Adrian and Aurora are 43 years old, Tyler and Beau are 12.

Meet the Jackson family. Aurora, Adrian, and twins Tyler and Beau. Aurora Miguel and Adrian Jackson were never married, but have always maintained an open sort of "don't ask, don't tell" relationship. It works for them, and they love each other very much.

Aurora is the proud owner of Jolie, Jolie, a trendy and popular fashion boutique and salon in the Lakeside Heights city center. She does the best she can with what she has to work with sometimes.

Adrian is a freelance web designer, but was largely a stay-at-home-dad while the twins were growing up. After all, when you only have half a job, and knock up a successful entrepreneur with twins, you better know your place in that nursery. It's okay, it's not like he wanted a real job anyway.

But the boys turned out well. The twins had their 12th birthdays this fall. Tyler likes girls, working out, and playing sports. Beau gets good grades and likes video games.

Adrian takes the boys to the Simoleon Arcade, where Tyler meets and becomes quite smitten with an older girl, Bella Bradshaw. Even she knows how hot she is! Don't get your hopes up though, Tyler, she's going off to college next year.

The arcade is nearly empty, and Beau mentions to his dad, "We could add a little game shop, sell clothes and refrigerated groceries, a pool table, dart boards. Who the hell designed this place anyway!?! We'll charge those snobby brats $50 an hour. We can do better than this!" That Beau sure does know his video games.

"You know, kiddo, I think we can!" So with his head full of his son's brilliant ideas, the house recently paid off, and Aurora's salon doing great, Adrian has a business loan approved to buy the arcade. It sure helps having a level-8 business-woman-baby-mama to co-sign on your loan! The arcade makes them $10,000 in their first week.

gameplay note: My Sims don't get any money from the sky. To buy their homes, cars, businesses, and even their college educations, they take out loans using mortgage shrubs from Simlogical. I generally make them put down about 25% of the loan, and take into account their job status and ability to pay back the loan. If that's how I have to do it in real life, that's how they do it too! You know, Sims get rich too easy anyway.
