the founding families, very briefly

On April 8th, 2006, six Sims moved to Lakeside Heights. They were David Riley, Charlie Bradshaw, Becca Brant, Eliza Brant (sister to Becca), Jessa Briggs, and Maya Weston. For some reason it didn't occur to me that founding the neighborhood with an almost entirely female population would mean that the founding names wouldn't survive long. But anyway, these six Sims were copies from my previous neighborhood, so though not literally, these families have been with me since the beginning. None of the founding Sims are alive currently, but almost all of them have descendants living in the neighborhood.

FYI: the current Sim-year marks the time passed (in Sim-years) since the neighborhood's founding in 2006 ;)

Charlie Bradshaw had three children, and has five granddaughters (so much for the Bradshaw name.)

Jessa Briggs married Castor Nova from SSU and had three children, five grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren (the Nova clan have a tendency towards twins). The Phoenix and Collins families are Novas too.

Becca Brant married Troy Harris whom she met at SSU and promptly knocked her up. They had one child, three grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren. The Harris family is plentiful and includes the Fortney family as well.

David Riley also met his wife Mallory at SSU, a cheerleader whom to her dying day would show up randomly around town in a llama suit. They had one child and have two granddaughters.

Eliza Brant had one child with first husband Kent Deppiesse, who gave her one granddaughter (these girls are random, I swear!). But Kent went on with his affairs to populate the neighborhood with many many Deppiesses.

Maya Weston married Ashley what's-his-face from SSU. They had one daughter, and one granddaughter, who has since moved away from the neighborhood. There are no longer any descendants of Maya Weston living in Lakeside Heights.

  1. This is very cool. I always love coming back and checking out your site. I hope I can stick with my sims 3 Victoria Gardens hood characters for as long as you did with this neighbourhood. I would love to see a town populated with relatives of my founding families.

  2. I wondered who you started out with and how it evolved. So, wives take the name of their husbands as in real life?
This is a really interesting page! :)

  3. Personally, I like the old-fashioned traditionalism of your female sims taking on their husbands' last names. And yes, I made the same mistake in my 1st Legacy, having my Gen 2 hier be the first born, & she was a girl, & the Franklin Legacy quickly became the Harris Legacy. LOL
