the great 2083 playdate

September 2083 - toddler playdate picspam!

This update is inspired by Emily Miller and Aaron Phoenix. You barely ever get to see them because of their parents' absolute lack of drama, so I figured they deserved a little picspam because they're just so CUTE!

If I were the kind of player that set up kids from the moment they're born, these two would SO be married already, lol!

Emily Miller is hosting the Lake City playdate, which is probably just as likely because her parents are so friendly and sociable. This is her dog, Tiffany, who got lots of hugs at this party!

All of the Lake City toddlers are two this year. From left to right: Aaron Phoenix (son of Jack and Nessa), Skye Nova (daughter of Pat and Lara), Emily Miller (daughter of Blake and Clarice), and Delilah Gibson (daughter of Cameron and Bella).

They all live in the West Washington neighborhood of Lake City, and in fact, all live directly next door to each other. This ought to be a tight little clique to crack when they get older ;)

A sloppy toddler kiss for Emily's big brother Elliot, who is six this year.

Awww, poor Skye, with her sad, sad face. Looks like Delilah is taking after her mommy already...

Lila, what did you do???

So Emily's first party was a roaring success! And she's exhausted herself to pieces :)

There won't exactly be a playdate in Bluewater Township, since Hunter and Flint Watts (twins of Matt and Leila) are the only toddlers out there, and they're just hanging out at home. They're both two years old this year.

And in the background, what'cha reading there, Felicity???

That's pretty hardcore for a five year-old! ;)

I don't think I've seen that before, I thought they read the kid's book by default, lol!

Flint though, cute as he is, has some stink issues that I cannot get rid of, lol!

Anybody know how to fix this? I'm thinking it might be hard for him to find a date in high school if we don't think of something!

And I know y'all just want an update on Leila, but you'll have to wait ;)

***

It's an unfortunate day for a playdate at Willow's house, but you know, the invitations have already been sent. Grace was a very old dog, and she will be missed.

But the party must go on!...

Madelyn Ruben (playable townie) is the tall one in back, and is three this year. She'll start preschool in Lakeside Heights next school year.

And little ones, Willow Day (daughter of Jeremiah and Stephanie) and Quinn Buchanan (daughter of Micah and Mariah), both just had their very first birthday this past August.

And they both look 100% like their daddies!

Madelyn's mommy is Kirsten (Graham) Ruben, the ex-girlfriend of Patrick Nova, and she's probably just thinking about how WEIRD it is to be in this house again! Good thing Pat's out in the city, because that would have been really awkward if he stopped by!

And as much fun as they're having, those little ones just don't hold their liquids very well when you toss them around. So Quinn and her mommy have to duck out of the party a little early.

But that's okay, because Willow has already claimed the unowned doggy bed, and is deep into her afternoon nap!

Well, at least she's not taking the death of her beloved doggy too badly ;)

*******

notes: I don't know if I'll do these every year, or every other - just whenever they're needed. I've been feeling like I don't get to see my toddlers long enough before they age to children.

New babies update coming up tonight too :)

ETA: because somebody out there is probably wondering, WTF? lol! About why Kirsten might feel weird being in that house... You'd have to remember that Stephanie is Pat's little sister, and she and Willow are living with her parents right now, the same house she and Pat and Riley grew up in... so, yeah, that's what I meant, lol!

  1. Kewl! How do you do your playdate? Did you just merely teleport them in and make them playable?

Try changing his outfit. Also, try going into SimPe and make sure that the stink flag is unchecked for your toddler stink bug. Hopefully, that'll fix it.

  2. laurel, yup, that's all, just teleport them in and make them selectable :)

Thanks! I'll try SimPe! I didn't think to check flags! I did try changing outfits, bathing and re-bathing, waiting until he needed another real diaper change, and I even tried aging him up to child and it was still there... hope SimPe can help :)

  3. This was too cute, and I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who does play dates. Maybe I should put together a post as well and share. Like you, I don't think I get enough time with those cute little toddlers.

Don't you just love watching the waddle around their homes? I think it's the cutiest little thing ever!

  5. Riverdale, you should! I'd love to see it!

    Tanja, thanks! :)

  6. All, oh, and by the way, I did check in SimPe, and there wasn't a stink flag checked :\

  7. That's adorable! I was wondering how you have toddlers visit other lots; I'll have to start staging playdates for my toddlers. And I love getting to see a little more of the toddlers. I can't believe how big Willow and Quinn have gotten!

  8. I LOVE toddlers. This was wonderful. How fun. I so miss all of these animations with TS3.

Have you tried the good ol' resetting him trick with move objects? I didn't see you mention that. Usually that helps with weird graphical errors like that.

  9. Aww, this was SO cute. I've always liked how your toddlers get together, and recently I remember in one of your couples extras, you mentioned how a particular sim couldn't even remember when she first met another. I was thinking, they were probably toddlers!

Your little boys have really cute hair, and freckles!

  10. The stick is so strange. I had one sim like that, but she was an adult. I left the lot then re-entered and she was fine again. But you know I have one sim, Ye, who got frozen when he was a teen, and he's skin has never turned back from being blue, only his face. I've tried fixing him in SimPE but it didn't work.

So if Flint stays stinky for ever, that will be a good story line.

  11. "If I were the kind of player that set up kids from the moment they're born, these two would SO be married already, lol!"

Ha! I always read about people doing that and I think "But HOW? You don't even know if they'll have good chemistry!" It's hard for me to accept that not everyone cares about that (or other aspects of gameplay) as much as I do.

Oh, my God...these toddlers are so unbelievably adorable. I was just "awww-ing" all through this update! Skye's sad face is hilarious. And Hunter and Flint huggling! Aww! I should do this with my toddlers - they don't often get to know each other unless they're cousins (sometimes not even then) but toddlers together are so cute.

As for your little stink problem, Lunar already suggested what I would have said but I've had something else that's worked for me with this sort of thing too. I usually let them fill their nappy again (or just InSim their bladder motive to zero if I'm impatient, which I normally am), wait a second or two and then have someone change their nappy. Fingers crossed something works for you! No one wants their kid to be the smelly kid at pre-school! LOL.

  12. So cute! Part of the reason I'm over-populated now is that I couldn't get enough of toddlers when I started playing :)

Have you tried deleting the toddler with the green cloud then exiting the lot? He'll be at the mailbox when you re-load. It worked for a dog with permanent soap bubble trails so it might work for a stinky kid :)

  13. Sarah, thanks! Just like real life, they grow up so fast! :)

Lunar, oooh, no I haven't tried that yet! I will though, next time I play. Thank you! Great idea! That just could work ;)

Francesca, thank you! Yes, CC hair is a necessity, lol! I love how most CC creators will make their hair for all ages, where Maxis only does most of their hairstyles for adults only = lazy!

Riverdale, lol, is Ye's skin still blue even now? I'm gonna try the delete/reload thing, and if that doesn't work, then I don't know what else...

Carla, I know, lol! I don't think most people are so hardcore into chemistry scores as we are ;)

Glad you enjoyed it! I'd have to agree that they're super-adorable, but then, they're mine so I kind of have to think so :)

Blackcat, thanks! I'd just love to let all my Sims have a bunch of babies, but you know, over-population, lol!

I'm still not quite over the idea that some of my Sims might not want any children at all. I only ever let one couple do that (Abby and Talin Collins) and it just about killed me, lol!

  14. Cute update!
I like that you pay a lot of attention to little things;) For example the short hair of Quinn and Willow. I too use this hair on youger toddlers to make them look different from older ones.

  15. Aili, thanks for noticing! :) I love that hair on the brand new toddlers. I know my poor RL baby was good and bald until he was almost two, and he still hardly has any eyebrows, lol!
