north park street townhomes, apartment life makeover!

October 2078 - Jason Larson is 28.

These are the North Park Street Townhomes (aka, bachelor's row) in Lake City. Not called bachelor's row because there are no women allowed here, but just because a coincidental streak of young single men, cast-off ex-boyfriends, and forever bachelors. Patrick Nova lived here once, as did Roland Ellis, and Nathan Lind. Current residents are Jason Larson, and Alon Hutchins, who did in fact ask that big-foreheaded girlfriend of his to move in with him. There are four three-story, two-bedroom/two and a half bath attached homes.

"My God, again?" Jason says, pressing his ear to the wall. He wonders when they find time to eat, or shower, or go to work??? Unfortunately for Jason, Alon and Ally are his neighbors, and the obviously have their bed pressed right up against the wall.

Jason is a sales associate for the Riley Estates Company. He's been studying for his sales proficiency, and has gained a level. He gets paid peanuts for what he does, and he thinks he deserves a raise. He goes in on his day off to speak with Mr. Riley about it.

Photobucket
Nessa Phoenix is his direct supervisor and Mr. Riley's assistant, so he talks to her first. He tells her about his excellent grades in college. He isn't very confident about what he's saying though, and his attention drifts elsewhere. Maybe she reads into that when she says, "What of it? A lot of people get good grades in college."

Photobucket
Mr. Riley's reaction doesn't look good either. He says, "Nope, sorry, I could get a dozen kids in here to fill that position by tomorrow. I just don't have any higher positions available. Take it or leave it."

Jason doesn't think Mr. Riley knows that he dated one of his nieces, and is now dating another. He isn't sure that would help his case or hurt it, so he doesn't mention anything.

Well, it was worth a try. Maybe he should start looking for new work. He really wants to be a journalist some day. Jason is edging up on 30 soon, so he better get on it. Man, where did the time go?

Photobucket
But while his career life isn't very prosperous at the moment, his romantic life is only getting better. Jason invites Amelia over to see the new remodel in his place, and they stay out talking underneath the stars. He really feels like he's starting to get over Bella, but he wont say anything to Amelia about it yet though. Not until he's sure.

Photobucket
Amelia tries to make him some breakfast before they crawl into bed, but she doesn't do a very good job. Needless to say, he isn't dating her for her cooking.

Photobucket
They go to bed some time around dawn, and well, they can stay in bed because he's quit his job at the Riley Estates Company. Jason has an interview later in the day for an adoption caseworker position, which is nowhere near what he wants to be doing, but pathetically pays much more than entry-level sales.

And when the neighbors get going with their noise, their crazy wall banging love-sessions, he makes sure not to tell her who it is. She hasn't run into either of them yet, and Jason is hoping she wont have to. They really try to spend more time at her apartment instead.

modified apartment playstyle: Bryson Riley will still get rent money for his properties, even if his tenants pay rent to the default game landlords. I'll just add up the total amount of rents for each unit, and use the familyfunds cheat to give him the money.

I think I've decided to play my apartments in four day/year leases, because seven is just too long. And four years is about the amount of time most of my young post-college Simmies stay in apartments anyway. If they want to stay in their apartment longer than four years, they can move out and back in again, and pay for another lease. I'll keep track of how long they've been there by the day of the week ;)

ETA: Ack! Moving out and in again proves to be
way too much work! Instead, they'll stay in their apartment, and after four days, I'll use the sethour cheat to advance the day of the week to Monday again.

  1. Looks great! I was curious how you would do the whole landlord payment thing with AL. The townhomes look great! Did you build those?

  2. I hope Jason finds a new job. At least he should use his degree for what he wants.

  6. darn. Here's a link to a tutorial on uploading, (http://thesims2.ea.com/help/detail.php?help_id=66), otherwise I'll just have to pay attention to detail when I try to borrow very heavily from your design of the townhomes for my hood.

Oh my, Amalia sleeping with Jason and Alon and Ally banging away next door. That spells trouble!

(Ha, it's almost like an episode of s(m)ex in the city!)
