the lofts, apartment life makeover!

I am in the process of updating all of my multi-family lots to real apartments. So while I take a little break from my normal story-playing, I thought I'd share with you my apartment remodeling adventures :)

First up are the Rondal Lofts. Charlotte and Amelia will be roommates, and Cameron will have his own place.

Charlotte finds out that they have to cough up one whole week's worth of rent at a time. She says, "What? That's like a seven-year lease? Are you serious?" It's crazy, but he's serious, Charlotte, just sign the papers already!

Amelia and Charlotte in the living room of their two-bedroom, fifth floor suite! That teleporting Amelia learned while studying abroad is going to be helpful up there on the fifth floor! Look at those ceilings! And I love how they're automatic, so I don't have to mess around with them :)

Amelia says, "Daddy! They raised my rent! I need some money, I don't want to move to the south end! Please, please, I don't want to live in an efficiency!" She still owes Charlotte her half of the rent.

Cameron moves in the next day. He chooses a comfy (aka, tiny) one bedroom apartment on the fourth floor.

Photobucket
Small as it is, he did manage to find room for Bella's gift after all.

Photobucket
Cameron has a little run in their building's gym. There's a pool and patio outside too.

Hey look, Charlotte's home. Amelia is at work, because that's where she's supposed to be at this time of day! How fun!

And some painting out on his balcony.

LOL, well, it looks like a six-story loft apartment building is just too much for my crappy computer to handle, and all my textures got fuzzy. It's still really fun to play, so I think I'll still keep them there. I won't have another building that big though.

The only thing bothering me right now is that they only pay rent once a week, and in Lakeside Heights, that's like a seven year-lease. And I think it's doubtful most of my transient post-college simmies will stay in their apartments for seven years, and unfortunately, they won't get a refund. Oh, well, Sims earn money too easily anyway, right?

I love the new alleyway neighborhood decorations. And I hate that they got rid of that really cool skyscraper neighborhood decoration that came with Nightlife, the one that looks all lit up at night. I liked that :(

  1. Yay AL! My computer gets all fuzzy on the big lots too, so don't feel so bad! I love that apartment building you built...very spiffy!

  2. Thanks Mandie! I just gutted and remodeled the inside, can't take credit for the actual building itself ;)

  3. Ooooh, very swank! It's a shame it makes your computer crawl and mess up textures, though.

Have you noticed any loading issues or time increases with AL? A lot of people complain about it, but I haven't noticed it.
