Baby Shaun was born just one month ago, and Liza is looking forward to being a big sister.
Liza's grades slipped a little last year, but she's actually a very bright girl. Her parents are busy with the baby a lot, or taking care of the animals, and busy fighting sometimes, and she often quietly sneaks upstairs to play with her drawing table and building with blocks.
Everybody wanted to fish this summer, and since they had room for it, they had a small fishing pond dug in the yard.
Riley's cousin, Hayden comes over sometimes. Riley never really got along with either Hayden, or his wife Rhianna - though Riley finds it hard to get along with a lot of people - but Chad and Hayden share a certain affinity for video games. Because you know, there is really just not much else to do out here sometimes.
Riley and Chad are just as much on the wrong page as ever - though with the new baby in the house, they can hardly even spare a moment to fight with each other. Riley doesn't know if it's just the leftover pregnancy hormones, but Chad just gets under her skin sometimes with his crazy antics.
Liza met Robert McCullough in the spring, while his school was out visiting the Watts Farm on a school field trip, and the two hit it off almost immediately over a water balloon fight. But he lives in Lakeside Heights, so they don't get to hang out very often.
They meet a neighbor, Leila Watts, and the girls invite her to fish with them, and she catches fish like it's her job! Oh, and they find out, it kind of is her job. "It's not fair," Liza says. "She lives on a farm!"
Meanwhile, Chad and Shaun have some father-son bonding time, lol!
Liza finally caught one of her own... Riley just caught a boot.
Now that Chad isn't the only man in the house anymore, he decides that their kitchen counters were just too pink, and they give the kitchen a nice country makeover. And they finally get around to getting some wallpaper on those plain white walls.
They make over the bedroom too - note: they buy a comfy new bed and the first thing they do is argue in it!
They've been able to afford having the shop closed for most of the summer, having had some money saved. But now after getting settled into a routine with the new baby in the house (Shaun is such an easy baby!), they decide it's time to open up again soon. Animals of the world need love and shelter, and the people of Lake County need pets!
Liza helps them clean up for reopening, and they didn't even have to ask her. What a sweet girl!
Liza is very fond of Robert and wants to be his best friend. She's so shy she hasn't made many real friends out here yet. Robert has a new baby brother too, and his mom says she's too busy to drive him out here to play, so they just chat on the phone instead.
The Bluewater Animal Shelter is back in business then, and Aunt Sophie comes in to take home a dog.
One last lazy summer afternoon...
And then the end of August rolls around. Liza gets some new school clothes, and she's starting the third grade this year! Back to school, kiddies!

Ah... Riley and Chad... they hardly ever have any romantic wants for each other, and they can't even talk to each other with out fighting, but they keep having babies together, lol! What am I going to do with them? :)
LOL! What a difficult couple, but then again, I'm sure there are tons like that in real life. I like the idea of an animal shelter, how does it work?
ReplyDeleteI've just been poking around your site a bit and can't believe how many Sims you have! And they all seem so unique! I am looking forward to catching up on their stories, although it looks like it might take me a while.
ReplyDeleteMao, very true! For their animal shelter: No one in Lakeside Heights is allowed to breed pets, since there are plenty of strays, and pets take up character files. Riley can breed a few, but only because it's her LTW. Otherwise, they take in strays, train them a little, clean them up, and arrange homes for them with other playable families. I make notes on my chart about which families want pets, and I usually just teleport them in when there is a matching pet available.
ReplyDeleteBeverly, yes I do have a lot! There are actually about three or four more families that aren't even in the database yet.
I'm about at my limit now though. I wouldn't want to have any more than I have. In fact, I may have to have some forced move-outs or deaths in the next round's random events, if they don't come up randomly. Non-random random events, lol ;)
I never quite figured out how to adopt strays! I've tried and gotten them to be friends, but there's no option to move them in?
ReplyDeleteMao - that should be enough. Maybe they're not really strays? I think once I sold a pet to a townie, and when that pet came by it was not classed as a stray.
ReplyDeleteBut in any case, with Riley, since it's an animal shelter and all, I just use the teleporter to add them to the family, and skip all the making friends part. I mean, real strays going to real animal shelters don't get to be that picky ;)
I just love little Liza. She is such a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteFollowed Riley and Chad again and can see how they are so difficult. Is this a case of 'attraction' versus 'love', I wonder?
The comments about the animal shelter were very interesting! :)
Moondaisy, lol, Riley and Chad didn't have love or attraction really, in the beginning. They got knocked up in high school. But I think they've grown on each other over the years :)
