we shall request that photobucket go screw itself

"Hey, look at us," Liza says.

Fiona says, "What?"

"Our faces aren't blurry anymore!"

Fiona breathes a sigh of relief. "Thank God," she says. "My complexion looked terrible! What if a boy had seen me like that?"

So I think I've got it together then. I'm hosting on my own webspace (which, duh, I am already paying for and scarcely using a bit of it, lol!), and photobucket can happily go screw themselves. I'm pretty sure I'll have plenty of space and bandwidth for this blog, but if not, we'll deal with that when it comes.

This gives me peace of mind. For as involved a project as this has become, it breaks my heart to see my pictures go to shit and there be nothing I can do about it. So hopefully, I'll never be in that position again. I'll eventually get to relinking the affected posts, which there are only three or four at the moment. If it ends up being all of them, then OMG, that could take a year!

We should be back to our regularly scheduled programming very soon ;)

  1. I'm glad you have fixed teh problem. Now, this hosting for yourself. Did you go out and buy a domain and just upload your pics there? I don't understand how that stuff works. YAY! More updates will be back soon!!!!!!

  2. I'm glad you got it figured out, Laura! I'm probably going to be stuck with Photobucket for a bit... unless I can convince husband that 60-70 more dollars a year on an already 100 dollar hosting account isn't much, lol. Which probably isn't going to happen! We'll see.

    Stupid photobucket!

  3. Riverdale, I already had a domain and webspace for my regular blog, so I'm just... um, using it, lol! I'm using my wordpress blog to upload the pictures, but posting them here instead of on my other blog.

Mao, husbands can be persuaded *wink-wink* lol! :)

  4. I've found a temporary solution I'll share here. Wordpress.com accounts, while not so good for blogs (due to the inability to modify or have your own template) does offer 4gigs of hosting... COUGHCOUGH... so I'm currently using that, LOL!

As for persuasion... hahaha, it turns out it'll be a LOT more than 60 or so dollars to upgrade my hosting package. I forgot it's already pretty beefy... they're looking into reconfiguring packages soon, though. Until then, wordpress will work. ;)

(plus our honeymoon hurt our bank account... just a tad LOL!)

  5. Mao, wow, 4 gigs is a lot for free! I think blogger only gives 1 gig for their blog storage. I wonder how their bandwidth is? Thanks for sharing - I think a lot of people are going to need it!

  6. Thanks for telling me that Laura. See, even though I have a Buffy fanfic site, I'm using yahoo, which will be closing down soon. So I only tought myself very basic HTML coding for pics and all that, and the pics I did upload there are hosted on photobucket under a different account.

Right now no matter how much "convincing" I do with the hubby will I be able to get a domain or anything out of him. LOL I already have him paying for my Pirates of the Caribbean Online, that's $9.95 a month, not to mention Pogo wich is $6.99. I'm addicted to online games. LOL At least I haven't gotten into WoW, so that's a plus. But I doubt if he'll give me the money. He's already hinting that it would be nice if I got a job. So I guess I'll be stuck with photobucket until then. They have pissed me off though. Do you know they've deleted two of my pics because my sims were nude and making out on a couch? WTF? I had to upload them to blogger so they would show. I refused to "fix" them.

Mao, Wordpress is free? I didn't know that. Now could I make an account there and host my pics there to use on blogger?

  7. Yes! Just go to wordpress.com and sign up for an account. I've had mine for two years, I use wordpress' stat counter and it requires a code wordpress.com gives you.

So far, it's working just fine for me! I as shocked... 4gigs IS a lot!

  8. I'm glad you've found a solution!

I'm also really glad to hear about Wordpress. If I start noticing problems with my pics, I might sign up for an account and use their hosting instead.
