LCU, we all get lucky sometimes

LCU, spring semester, 2076

Photobucket
The beginning of the semester was a bust with just about everyone being sick after spring break. Charlotte called up her mommy to come over and make them all some soup.

While she's at Red's with her brother one night, Charlotte swears she sees an old boyfriend. Is that George? George McCarthy? Man, it's been a long time! They were like fifteen when they dated, and she remembers sneaking into the shop where he worked so they could make out in the stock room. They catch up for a while, and then Charlotte realizes they're at a gay bar. "What are you doing at a gay bar? Are you gay?" she says.

"No, are you? What are you doing here?" he says.

"Good point," she says.

Photobucket
So having determined that neither of them are gay, they sit down to have some salad together, goofing off, acting like fifteen year-olds again. Maybe she should give him a call sometime.

For the first few weeks of the semester, Allegra likes to walk around the house showing off her shiny new engagement ring. "Look at this rock! Come on, look at it!"

Amelia is starting to find this annoying, but maybe that's just because she doesn't have one of her own.

Photobucket
Adam, Heather, and Lara are all graduating at the end of the semester and there is a lot of discussion about what's going to happen after graduation. Lara assumes that her recent engagement means that she'll just move into Patrick's apartment after she's finished with school. She would love to move out to the country, Bluewater Township, but with Patrick trying to be a working musician, he probably needs to be in the city.

Photobucket
Adam and Heather browse the real estate ads together. Between the two of them, they should have about $10,000 to put down on a house, which is enough of a downpayment to get them a house just about anywhere they want to live. And their GPAs will guarantee placement in just about any job they want to have. So they're pretty well set, and now they just have to decide what they want.

Piper is working at the campus library one day and SWOON! Bill Miller is his name and Piper doesn't think she's ever seen a more beautiful man (or woman for that matter!) in her life. He says he's a Celebrity Chef, but Piper's never heard of him before. Charlotte's into cooking, and she bets Charlotte's heard of him. Keep your grubby paws off this one Bella!

Photobucket
Meanwhile, as a testament to the fact that Bella Bradshaw has strange taste in men, she blows off her decent looking date to ask out this three-bolt uni-brow-non-hottie. Her original date just stands between them thinking, "You've got to be kidding me! " Funny enough, uni-brow turns her down, since he saw that she was kind of with someone. "Man, you're pretty sleazy," he says.

Photobucket
Bill walks Piper home from work and kisses her goodnight. Later that night he would sneak by and drop off a bottle of champagne and a card that said he'd like to see her again sometime. I think they're pretty into each other!

Photobucket
Having lost both prospective dates for the night, Bella goes home alone. But she's not worried, she's always got Jeremiah on standby.

(note: Bella Bradshaw actually drew the "oops" card that night with Jeremiah. And it was bound to happen eventually, as much as she gets around. Since ACR doesn't handle YA risky pregnancy, my YAs (teens too, if they're doing it) draw their chances from the cards of fate, the joker card to be precise, each time they do the deed ;)

But since it took me three whole days to find the mod conflict that was preventing my YAs from getting knocked up the way I normally do, which is "simulate genetic merger" via the Tombstone of Life and Death, I guess we'll let them off the hook and consider this one a close call. Better be careful, Bella! Next time might not be so lucky!)

Photobucket
Though if she had to have an "oops" with anyone, she would probably rather it be Jeremiah. He's so nice to her and they have fun together, and though she would never say it out loud, she has grown quite fond of him.

***

How many times before has Charlotte said she'd call a guy and then didn't? Well this time she did call George, and boy is she glad she did!

Photobucket
Bad noses run in her family, so she's not even too concerned about his hideous beak. She found out that not only is he brilliant, but he wants to be a lawyer, and he does the dishes! He's amazing! Why did she ever break up with him? Oh, yeah, for Adam.

Photobucket
Charlotte hasn't been this happy in a really long time.

***

Photobucket
Bella stops by her parents' apartment one morning to drop something off, and Cameron comes out in his pajamas. They haven't seen each other since she moved out almost a year ago. He gives her a little whistle and says she's looking good lately. And that they should go out some time. Cameron isn't one to beat around the bush! And also doesn't seem to mind that her father is standing right behind them...

Well, she had reservations about it once, because of Amelia. "Amelia?" He says, "We just hang around together sometimes. It's not like we're best friends or anything."

Photobucket
I guess that's good enough an answer for Bella. Despite the fact that she normally goes for the strange looking ones, and Cameron looks pretty normal (if not arrogant), she thinks he's pretty darn hot!

Photobucket
Adam always knew he wanted to go into education, and by the end of the semester, Heather has finally decided to pursue a career in research science. And Lakeside Heights, they decide on in their real estate search, since they both aspire to send well-educated brilliant children off to college one day.

Photobucket
Lara's entire degree depends upon her passing this one final cooking class, and she really has no desire to repeat her final semester. She practices often and burns almost everything she cooks. Well, Patrick really seemed to like her spaghetti, so maybe she should just enter with that? But spaghetti just seems so bland. Adam and Heather are there to support her and she's really nervous.

Photobucket
Patrick was right, that was some damn good spaghetti! (And that other girl is seriously disappointed that her toaster pastries didn't win, lol!) Lara passes her cooking class, and thus finishes her degree on a wing and a prayer!

(note: is it just me, or does the playable Sim always win the cooking contest? I haven't had anyone lose one yet... even really bad cooks like Lara!)

  1. Ahh, love in Uni! Bella certainly does get the guys, how funny that she's only interested in the weird ones.

I've actually never done a cooking contest. I'll have to try that sometime and see if you're right.

That's really interesting about how you do the thing with YA pregnancies. I use Inteen and it has YA pregnancies, but I've only ever had one happen.

  2. I did use inteen for a little while, but it conflicted with something (can't remember what) and so had to lose it.

  3. I miss my InTeen, I hope they update it soon. Also, have do you use "birth control" if any? I used to use the clock that came with Inteen but now it's all up in the air for my hood. I just had to unexpected pregnancies. I don't need anymore, lol.

I've only had one playable win a cooking comp. normally it's an NPC that wins. *grrr*

  4. riverdale, that's good to know, I was wondering if the playable always won or not.

as far as birth control, if my sim draws an oops card, I would consider it that they missed their birth control. I go according to their neatness though, so sloppy sims are more likely to miss their birth control than neat ones.

  5. About the cooking contest thing - maybe it's just you - or maybe it's just me - coz none of my sims have ever won a damned contest - cooking / dancing / gaming / pool hustling... and for that matter, none of them have ever received expensive gifts from their dates....

  6. Cooking contest: my playables only used to win if their skill was 8 or higher.

Is that George McCarthy, the shop assistant teen? I would have never guessed he had a nose like that. I'm really thrilled for Charlotte though. She never called Paul from Twikki Island back either, did she?

I love the picture of Bella thinking in bed while Jeremiah sleeps.
Cameron looks kind of cute with those neat, round glasses.

    Great update!

  7. Moondaisy, yup, he sure is the shop boy, lol! She dated him back in high school for a bit.

No, she didn't end up calling Paul, but keep that in mind ;)

  8. I miss University! Ahh the amazingness that was the Sims2... minus the slow loading screens. I guess I should've played on a better computer. I'm really enjoying your story!

  9. Amalia, I know, loading screens are the worst! My computer isn't that fast either.

  10. Okay, I know this post is old, but I love your new entries, I wanted to go back to the beginning and start from there. Thanks for the years worth of reading material!
Anyhow, I just had to comment on how I LOVE your little portraits of your graduates in their cap and gown with their stats, and their plans especially.
I'm curious about your "cooking classes" that Lara is in. Is this just in your mind, or is it a custom Uni? If you have this answered somewhere, I'm sorry, just point me to a link and I'll be on my merry way.

  11. Galloway, wow, I'm always very impressed when people want to read from the start! That should keep you busy for a while, lol! :)

Thank you! The classes I send them to are kind of custom gameplay. They still go to their in-game class, but I also send them to my custom campus lots for skilling - like in this case, Lara needed a cooking skill point to finish the last semester of her degree. So rather than just have her sit at home with a book, I sent her to a "cooking class" ;)

I've actually been working on a tour of LCU and the way I run it, so maybe keep an eye out for that in the next few weeks too.

  12. Awww, you've made me really really miss TS2 University. :( lol! Seriously though I loved that EP, used to play it all the time.
You can't play the teens so much in TS3 because there is no where to play them, other than at home or in the park. Boring! lol

Anyway, I'm making a start on your story Laura. I'll admit I did skim read like you suggested. ;) But I always like to start right from the beginning with blogs like this.

Looking forward to reading more! :)

  13. Hi Jennifer! I only suggest the skim-reading because I know these early parts are so rough, lol! But hopefully it'll be worth a laugh or two! I'm very glad to have you reading along! Hope you enjoy it! :)

Uni has always been one of my favorite EPs too!
