(note: I try to do one spring break for my college kids each round. Study hard, play hard! Not everybody gets to go each time - just a select few, whoever can afford it usually, or whoever is friends with the Sim arranging the trip.)
Amelia is arranging a killer party again, but this time she's hosting on Twikkii Island! She's invited Charlotte, Alon, Marisa, and Allegra even convinces Nathan to take some time away from the law firm and go with her, or maybe he just doesn't want her frolicking on the beach with a bunch of half-naked coeds?
They're staying in a massive time-share beach house near South Beach for $3000 a night. They're all tired when they arrive, and spend the first day relaxing over at the boardwalk, buying some skimpier beach clothes, and sitting around the fire.
Random gratuitous beach shots:
Well, the trip is going great until Nathan comes down with the flu. But that's not about to slow him down because he has plans. Maybe he didn't just come along to keep an eye on Allegra after all?
Charlotte meets another tourist who she's quite taken with, yet another red-head and she doesn't know what it is about these red-heads lately. She's actually always had a thing for blondes. His hair makes her think of how angry she is at Mark still at first. But he's not Mark, and he seems nice. His name is Paul. A little island romance for Charlotte? She's hoping!
Allegra sees that Nathan's feeling a little run down and suggests they go soak at the hot springs. She buys him a massage. Awww, she's such a good girlfriend.
Apparently illnesses still progress while on vacation and Nathan is in pretty bad shape by the time they get back to the beach house (lot debugger tells me so). So he hits the bed, alone, and the rest of them bring the party downstairs to their walkout basement rec room. They try not to make too much noise. Charlotte invites Paul, and Marisa invites Steve.
Apparently, dancing with Steve makes Marisa realize how much she wants to marry Roland. So she and Steve spend the rest of the night just talking. She thinks he's a little too silly anyway - he wouldn't stop juggling the espresso cups!
Charlotte and Paul could probably be doing other things under the stars, but instead decide to build sandcastles. Maybe it's because she's been burned so many times, and she doesn't want to push her luck. It doesn't help that he is a perfect gentleman about it. Where does she find these guys?
Charlotte doesn't say goodbye to Paul until around six in the morning, but she does manage to get a kiss out of the deal. Good for you, Charlotte!
The next morning Charlotte was feeling a little stuffy. Marisa too. And then Allegra started coughing.
Nathan might as well do what he came here to do. He says, "Sorry, Honey, I didn't mean to make such a mess of your vacation. They say in sickness and in health, right? " And, still in his pajamas, he asks her to marry him. Well, it was supposed to be more romantic than that, like in the surf under the moonlight, or in the mystical ruins that they didn't even get to visit.
Allegra doesn't look too upset about it.
They all agree this trip is pretty much spent. They leave Twikkii Island with some nice memories, some great snapshots, and six cases of the flu.

That last line had me rolling over with laughter. Happy that Charlotte got a kiss and congratulations to the engaged couple!

Oh man...that's so realistic! I've been sick on vacation at least twice, and once it was a sickness that spread, hitting one family member after another. Miserable! That's great that it was salvaged by an exciting event. :)
ReplyDeleteFun pix from Twikkii! I've done the sick on vacation thingy too. Nothing more fun than a 6 hour drive home when you have the flu.
