picspam, bella's new house

So one day, I went and destroyed Bella's house, lol! Oh how she loathes me! Because the only other place I could fit her ever-expanding family is in the suburbs. She is SO not a suburban kind of lady. But I put them in Stoneview Court, which is a "gated community" - so that status should make her happy. And Cameron is happy because he's right across the street from Max. And the girls will have a nice sized yard to play in.

Of course, I had to start with her kitchen! :)

None of this is fully decorated yet, but her kitchen will probably remain pretty sparse. Note the conveniently located telephone so she can order take out, lol! She's never been much of a cook.

But they have a nice roomy dining room for entertaining... with their take-out meals, lol!

First floor, clockwise from the top: Dining room, bathroom, foyer, living room, kitchen.

Second floor: Bell and Cam's room, kid's bathroom, one, two, and three bedrooms for the kids, and the master bathroom. The kids' bedrooms are shared for now, and one of them is just a play room, but they'll probably each have their own rooms once they're older.

I managed to give Bella back her hot tub, and when spring comes around, they'll have a pool installed. She's lost her sauna though, so that kind of sucks. Her old house was really decked out!

Living room, mostly the same decor as their last setup. Note the train from the window, lol! Lucky for the residents of Stoneview Court, the trains of 2083 are super quiet and smooth, so they won't be bothered by any noise ;)

A hallway full of family pictures. Note, most of them are of Bella and Cameron. They love each other (and themselves) very much!

I hate this annoying lighting glitch I have though, where when I move the paintings down the wall, if I go past a certain point, they all turn black. Does that happen to anyone else? So frustrating!

A bland and practical bedroom, for the moment. They spend a lot of time in here though, of course, so I'll probably want to do more with this room first.

Master bathroom, all zoomed out and distorted. Bathrooms are hard to take pictures of.

And the family! :)

Forgive Delilah for looking a little "village of the damned" there, lol! I couldn't really do much with this picture, since I can't unpause the game in their house - Bella is on "bedrest" and is actually paused at the start of her labor. Oops! She's not due until May, having her baby right now would be a very bad thing!

Oh, and I didn't think to take a picture of the exterior. Stoneview Court houses all look pretty much the same anyway.

I don't usually do lot tours of their homes, but I enjoyed making picspam of this one. I suppose seeing the house as a tour is different than seeing it as you do in the story pictures. Maybe I'll do one of these anytime someone moves, as I guess I kind of did with Hayden and Piper.

  4. Yeah, I get that painting glitch all the time! It's so annoying!

Lovely house, I particularly like the living room!

  5. I love their new home! I have a few remodels on the backburnner for a few of my sims. I actually plan to start some today (hopefully).

And, yes, I get that same black on my pictures too. I though it was just me. Good to know that I'm not the only one.

How much further does Bella have to go before she has the baby? I hope she gets a son. At lest try to even things out. LOL

  6. Wow, Bella has come a long way from her wild days. She's all domestic and such. LOL.

  7. Such a gorgeous place, very Bella. I am constantly in awe of your skills! I can't build their houses to save my life...

  8. Kiri, thank you! They made out quite well with their decorating budget, since their last house was worth a lot more than this one is.

M.J., thanks! I'm totally wrapped up in kitchens lately, lol!

Christina, thank you! The wedding pictures are actually a recolor of one of the NL picture sets :)

Shake, thanks! I mostly just transported all their stuff from the old living room, but I changed out the painting they had. The new one is by Shoukeir, and I'm doing up all my houses with paintings from there, lol!

Riverdale, lol, it is kind of good to know it's not just me too! Unfortunate that it's happening to everybody though. I wonder if it's a game program, or something to do with my lighting mod - do you use a lighting mod too?

Bella is due in early May, so about four months left, which is quite a while for as long as she's been preggy already in our time, lol! I'm completely torn on what I want them to have, but I know Cameron wants a boy. :)

LaToya, yes she certainly has! I'm quite proud of the way she's grown up! I was scared for her when she first got pregnant, but she's taken to motherhood nicely. Still Bella on the inside though, lol!

Zoe, thank you! I'm glad it seems fitting of her. I do try to give them each a place that suits their personality.

  9. I love the house! I found your blog recently, and Lakeside Heights is really beautiful and inspiring. I plan to try some of your ideas in my neighborhood, particularly the taxes. Thank you for sharing so much about how you run your neighborhood. I'll definitely be a regular reader.

  10. Oh, wow, I hope Bella forgives you for moving her to the suburbs, because she does have a really gorgeous house at least! And the gated community should keep out the plebs. ;)

The phone is perfect! I can see Cameron and Bella ordering several nights a week. I love the family photos. I never thought of lining them up like that on the wall. Some of my families have a ton of pictures and no space to put them all. Must try this!

Did you gut this house and redo it or is this just a Stoneview Court house I haven't looked at yet? I have them in my game (Caleb and Cara live in one and Ione and Evan used to) but they are quite small inside. This looks very spacious!

I have that lighting glitch too. I don't know why they gave us the ability to move things down the wall if they were going to make it so lame. I've read you can fix it by putting lights under the picture in the foundation but a) that's not always possible and b) it never worked for me anyway.

  11. I was thinking that maybe it has something to do with the lighting mod as well, since I'm using it as well. But Calra has said that she's having it to! So maybe it does have soemthing to do with the loghting.oO

  12. I can relate to Bella not being surburban. Everyday I wake up and say the same thing "I'm not in Surburbia, i'm not in Surburbia."

But Bella's house is very pretty! I like it a lot, it looks so clean and modern.

Cameron's happy that Max is across the street, lol. Possible bromance?

I do have a question about the train. If Bella and Cameron decide to leave the bedroom and move to the living room wouln't that be like giving the train passsengers a free show?

  13. This is so pretty! That train right outside the front door...wow! Yeah, hope it's a VERY quiet train!

  14. I hate that you cant move things down so far too! I've never researched it (guess I don't hate it that much/remember when I'm out of game).

They have a beautiful home, I like the kitchen, I'm a sucker for interior brick, if it makes sense, my houses have it. lol

I like their little family portrait, poor Bella, she's ready to pop and you have her frozen. Is this a little punishment for having another one so soon?

The wall of themselves really fits for me too, I always think of Bella as a little narcissistic.

  15. I think there is a hack that fixes the lighting glitch. I'll hunt for it.

I love their bathroom. Where did you find that tile?

  16. Twoflower, hi and welcome! Glad to have you reading! Have fun with the taxes! Funny, isn't it, how we like to torture our Sims with taxes and such? lol!

Carla, thanks! Yes, this house is entirely gutted and reorganized. I love those Stoneview Court houses on the outside, but the insides are a little hard to navigate. Especially the narrow hallways. I get nothing but headaches from all my traffic jams in one-tile hallways!

Oooh, never heard of that trick - of course I'll have to try it out and see if I can get it to work, lol!

Victoria, bromance, LMAO! Well not on Max's side of things at least! Cameron is actually slightly bisexual though, so I always wonder how genuine his male friendships are. (No really though, Max and Cam are totally BFFs or something, lol!)

OMG, you're right! The poor people on that train! :)

Beth, thank you! Super-quiet train! Future technologies, lol! This is set in 2083, so we're allowed to use our imaginations ;)

Maisie, I'm so glad I tried out the brick, because it really makes the room pop, doesn't it!? It was a late addition though, and on my first go-through, the whole room was just yellow.

Yes, Bella is certainly narcissistic, lol! And insecure at the same time, however that's possible. Only Bella, huh? ;)

Heredon, oooh, really!? I'd love that!

That's one of my favorite tiles too, and I got it ages and ages ago. I'll look at the creator info for that tile next time I'm in the game.

  17. Yes, do more house tours as your families move! I love to see how others decorate and it's good for ideas in gameplay!

  18. Janelle, glad you enjoyed it! You don't have to twist my arm to post more decorating picspam, lol! :)

  19. Heredon, here's the info on the tile: Rosin Yellow Mosaic with moldings by Brighten11 6-06

I checked at MTS, and Brighten11 does have a page, but only with houses on it, so I must have gotten it in one of the lot downloads? Because she doesn't have any wall downloads.

  20. would it be okay if I asked you how you dd the recolor? I just learned how to recolor paintings using SimPE but that particular picture didnt show up.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hmmm, well the way I do it is actually the more difficult way, I think. Most people use the Photo Studio for paintings, but I never bothered learning that and just go through the object recolor route.

Oh, did you make sure to move the finished file to your Downloads folder when you were done?

    ReplyDelete
  22. Another recoloring tutorial you might try, if the first doesn't work for you.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Thank you so much! I will try these out right now! Well, I recolored the picture onto a different painting and it turned out well.
