NaNoWriMo 2009!

It's that time of year again!

I'm actually not planning on slowing down with the LH updates though, or at least not much slower than I've been recently (3-5 days or so). After missing most of September and October, I'd really like to keep this story moving. And besides, this year I'm only doing about half a NaNo, and instead striving for balance in all things, which includes this story. (I even have an update in the works to post soon.)

But my blog reading and commenting may fall short. Because the sad truth of it is that I spend MUCH more time reading and commenting on blogs than I should! There's just too much great stuff to read out there, and I can't possibly commit myself to following everything. So this month is going to have to be about priorities. There will still be leisure time (which will include reading and commenting on blogs), but maybe less of it, portioned out and better monitored.

So if I slack on commenting on your blog this month, it isn't because I don't like you, and it isn't because you smell funny (we're on the internet, I can't smell you at all!). It isn't because you offended me, and it isn't because I don't love you anymore. I love you all just the same! It's not you at all, it's me. I just need some... space. This isn't a break-up, just a break. I just need a little time on my own, to find myself, to see where I'm supposed to be going. And you know, in the end, if it's meant to be, it will be.

LOL, Summer much? ;)

But really, this month (for me) is all about putting things in priority. More novel, more teaching my kid to write his numbers and letters, more walking my chubby ass up some ass-kicking hills, more laundry (a little bit more, anyway) - less slacking, less facebook, less twitter.

I still love you all, and I'll still be here, but you know, I just can't be everywhere.

So happy NaNoWriMo! Is anyone else working on a novel this month? Good luck to everyone participating!

  1. LMAO! Darn it woman, you need to clone yourself so we can all have a piece of you. ;)

Happy Nanowrimo to you too! I don't know yet if I'm going to participate, but I do this every year. When I get to work, I'm just going to start writing and see if I get anything. The hard part is that I can't type at work, so anything I do for this month will be handwritten. That'll be different from previous years.

  2. I almost forgot about Nanowrimo. I usually say that I am going to do it and forget. But I am going to really try this time.

    Good luck

  3. I don't write outside of the Sims like so many of you do so I'm not participating in Nano. But I wish you, and anyone else who's giving Nano a shot this month, lots of luck!

  4. Happy NaNoWriMo! My first year trying it and quite excited to do it.

Everyone else doing I wish you all the best of luck! Now if only a machiene that allowed us to clone ourselves would exist then maybe my bed would be made properly and I could finally make breakfast in bed!

  5. Good luck! I used to do NaNo but last year and this year I've ended up having to work on other things during November that can't be put aside. And I don't think my left wrist can handle the fast pace and intense writing of NaNo anymore. It gives me a lot of problems these days and I have to wear my wrist brace most of the time, even when I'm not at the computer.

  6. Most of my friends do NaNo, but I don't. When I do write, it's for fun. NaNo seems too much like work to me so it wouldn't be fun & I wouldn't want to buckle down & write. Good luck to those who are participating.

  7. Yay, so glad to see some of you are thinking about participating too! Good luck to you all!

We should all regroup and compare progress at the end of the month!

petalbrook, it is hard, hard work! But very rewarding to see it all put together at the end :)

  8. I totally know how you feel, except I don't have the addition of kids in the equation yet (I hope to by next year though!).

I love the cap you used for this entry.

Reading blogs does take more time than you realise, it's why I keep my reading list very small.

I think I said it on your other blog but I am doing it unofficially although I don't see myself getting more than 10, 000 words down by my cut off date.

  9. What's your screen name on nano? And what's your other blog url? You made mention of it on my blog. I wanted to check it out. :)

  10. carnaxa, I might try to get myself knocked up in the next year too! (That sounds so weird to say, lol!) But my first is three now, so if I don't want them to be too far apart, then it's about that time!

maisie, I'm not doing it officially (and never have, actually), so I'm not registered on that site. I was registered on the NaBloPoMo site at some point, when I did the blogging one. My writing blog is here.
