the lofts, big fat chances

August 2079 - Paul Gallagher is 29, Cameron Gibson is 28, Charlotte Centowski is 25, Amelia Bradshaw is 24, Bella Bradshaw and Jeremiah Day are 23.

Bella and Amelia are actually getting along here in the lofts together. They're becoming almost something like friends. They never imagined the day would come, when Alon Hutchins had become inconsequential to them both, and long forgotten. We suppose that's part of growing up.

Cameron has been promoted this month, and believe it or not, it was as a result of winning a thumb-wrestling match? He's working as a home video editor now.

Meanwhile, Bella is just baffled. She just about drops her fork! She's been dancing her butt off, and wants a promotion too, all she can do is work as a pop and lock performer. There's still no work at all in the acting field, which is what she really wants to do with her life.

Bella still has Cameron on her mind just about 99.5% of the time. Pretty darn hot, she thinks. All while Cameron checks out the new tenant, Emmy Masuko, pretty, young, and recently divorced. And it's not the kind of thing a guy should say out loud, especially to his girlfriend, but Cameron thinks Emmy is just slightly hotter than Bella, just slightly, maybe... you know, besides when Bella is in one of those super-hot little dresses she wears sometimes.

Photobucket
But all hotness aside, Bella and Cameron are just as into each other as ever. Though, Bella thinks they could stand to do it in public a little more often. You know, you don't want things getting stale or anything.

Stephanie calls Jeremiah one night because, being the old-fashioned kind of girl that she is, she felt it was about time Jeremiah met her family. What he didn't know was that she meant her WHOLE family including aunts, uncles, cousins, and childhood best friend, Justin. So the Nova clan has an impromptu family-reunion at City Park in Lake City. Stephanie told Jeremiah ahead of time that her dad was into music so that he could try to make a good impression. But Jeremiah knew nothing about classical music, unlike her father who was a classically trained pianist, and her father had never heard of any of the rock bands Jeremiah mentioned.

Stephanie goes back with Jeremiah after they're done visiting, and his very tiny efficiency apartment is really nothing at all to show off. In fact, he doesn't even have any groceries and so has to order some pizza. He's a little embarrassed, and is actually living a little worse off than he was in college.

Photobucket
But then, that's the price he's paying to stay in the city and be close to her, and she knows that. She says, "Thanks for meeting my family."

Photobucket
Jeremiah's TINY efficiency apartment! Which for being in the lofts still costs him $500 per lease (4 days). And his neighbor to the left is noisy!

Jason has been bringing his sister by a lot when he visits Amelia - for some reason it seems really important to him that they get along. Amelia doesn't really know Jodie very well yet, and though she seems a little cold, she's accepting enough.

Photobucket
Jason left early after dinner, and Amelia thinks he's been acting weird lately. He went home early another night this week. She doesn't know what's going on with him.

Jodie, on the other hand, wonders about Maxwell Shaw. "He's pretty hot, isn't he?" she says.

"I think he's married?" Amelia says. Not that that means anything with Maxwell Shaw.

Charlotte met Paul Gallagher three and a half years ago while on spring break. They've actually kept in touch ever since, and he's just stopping through town on some business this week, and he wants to see her.

Photobucket
When Paul arrives, the chemistry is still very much there, even though they never did anything more than kiss on that vacation. There must have been something to it to warrant over three years worth of phone calls. It all sounds perfect, except that Charlotte's love life has never been anything less than complicated, and unfortunately, Paul is far from the only man on Charlotte's mind.

Charlotte has possibly never been more confused. She's thinking about Adam still, as a friend. And then there's Joe, the guy she's been kind of casually sleeping with. And who knows why on earth she's thinking about Mark still! That was ages and ages ago, and you'd think she'd be over that by now! Then George is still on her mind, occasionally. And if that wasn't enough, she just met a brand new, gorgeous and recently divorced man named Blair, whose now ex-wife, Emmy lives in their building.

Oh, the drama that is Charlotte Centowski's love life!!! They better go out and have some lunch.

Photobucket
Thing is, they've talked on the phone A LOT, so Paul knows all of this, and if he's still here, knowing what he knows, it must mean something. So Charlotte has this one chance to decide whether they'd be good together or not. It's a big commitment, asking him to move all the way here for her, but she thinks it might be just the calm she needs. She's twenty-five years old now, and it's about time she got her head out of the clouds. They're both thinking long-term here, and she knows if she asks him to stay, it means permanent and committed, and moving towards a wedding. Because you don't move half-way across the world for someone just to date.

So she asks him, "Do you want to stay?" And he does, of course.

Photobucket
And then when they get back to her apartment, the immensity of it all hits her - she's just asked someone to move in with her, to sleep in her bed with her, and they haven't even actually had sex yet!!! "You don't wet the bed, do you?" she asks. He seems pretty offended. Maybe this is something she should have asked before he moved in?

Photobucket
Yes, it's true, talk about old-fashioned, but these two didn't actually get into bed together for the first time until after they were engaged. How's that for wholesome values? But their chemistry in the bedroom is just as great, and there's no bed-wetting on anyone's part!

So Charlotte is hoping Paul might help her clear her mind and forget about all the mess of her past. Either that, or it could be the biggest mistake of her life. Regardless, the choice has been made. So here she goes!

Paul, by the way, works in intelligence, is a knowledge sim, and wants to graduate 3 kids from college (lol, they better get to work on that!). He and Charlotte have a decent three-bolt (120 ACR) - so who knows, it just might work out. Reconnaissance communicator and a tarot card reader - funny pair :)

Photobucket
Poor confused Charlotte: wants to marry both Mark and Paul, fall in love with Mark (I don't know why she's even thinking about Mark - that was ages ago, and they barely did more than kiss!), be friends with Adam again, and best friends with Joe. And she worries that George might be stinky. This girl is all over the place! She's the most scatter-brained family Sim I've ever had.

[funny outtakes]

Bella pretends she's eleven again, imagining what it's like to kiss a boy? Bella, we all know you know what it's like to kiss a boy...

Cameron was actually there, but invisible for some reason?

Photobucket
While Jeremiah and Stephanie were at City Park, Beau Jackson tried his charms out with Heather Huffington, who happens to be ten years older than he is, and he's barely even as tall as her boobs! Must be some good charms! Those two have a hefty three-bolts (142 ACR ) together, without any tweaking! Beau is sixteen now, which technically is the age of consent, but man, she's almost thirty! So just a couple more years, lol! Heather is Maxwell Shaw's "friend" who works as a bartender at his club.
