I actually don't know why I had this post saved up in my drafts for so long. But I'm kind of under the weather this weekend, so I think I'll post this up to pacify you all so I can slack off on the next update for a couple/few more days ;)
Be warned, these are very old pictures. And this was long before I learned to download much proper CC, so some of these outfits are truly terrible, lol!
Most of the older generation of couples you saw wedding pictures for in this
prequel story #3: young loves. So this are mostly generation 2 weddings. And wow, it's kind of shocking how many of these poor couples ended up divorced or otherwise broken up! Bad luck generation? lol!
Orion and Violet Deppiesse: around Winter 2062Surely Claire wasn't the only one there, lol!
This is the one I made into a portrait for their wall.
Alana and Sheldon Fortney: Fall 2064

Just sayin', she wore black to their wedding... lol!
Toby and April Harris: Fall 2064Don't mind Alana there, in her own wedding gown at her brother's wedding, lol! Good thing she didn't curse them too.
April made a lovely bride though.
Brooke and Phoenix McCullough: Spring 2066And yet another wedding at the old Riley Hall, velvet room, which was very popular back then (because it was the only one I had, lol!)
Cabe and Ashlee Deppiesse: Fall 2066
Just an small and intimate back-yard wedding, which got rained out, lol!
And they came inside for the reception.
Max and Valerie Shaw: Spring 2068Berjes and Hailey Monif: Summer 2070Berjes and Hailey were actually the first to use my beach destination wedding resort on Twikki Island. I spent forever building that resort, and I've had hardly any of my Sims visit it again since. (Justin and Keri had their honeymoon there, and I think they're the only ones, lol!)
Hayden and Rhianna Phoenix: Summer 2071A simple backyard wedding, which Summer attended, she must have been four or five here?
Chad and Riley Hathe: Fall 2072 A shotgun courthouse wedding, just a few weeks before Liza was born.
Blake and Clarice Miller: Fall 2072This was at the old Riley Hall, before the whole place was made over for
Keri's wedding. But this garden wedding patio much inspired how I made over the new patio
where Bella and Cameron were married.
Aurora and Joel Harris: Spring 2073 LOL, I almost didn't want to include this one because of the ridiculous outfit I put him in, lol!
Yes, there are some things I wish I could take back. I was trying to pull off the whole military wedding thing, and back in the day, I hadn't yet figured out how (or maybe we weren't even able to) do weddings under the arch without changing into proper formal wear.
And Aurora looks oddly stunned as she poses for their wedding pictures - she's like, "What, did I just marry a toy soldier or something?" lol!
But they're a lovely couple, and she looked beautiful, and you know, it's not the wedding but the marriage that counts, and they have a great one! ;) So let's not scoff at his terrible outfit, lol!
Matt and Leila were actually married just before the start of the blog, but I included their wedding pictures in
their first update.
And then the blog picks up with
Nathan and Ally Lind's wedding.
You know I love a wedding, so I was just all over this post, lol! And I actually love Aurora and Joel's wedding. I think someone could recolour Joel's uniform to make it look less ridiculous. But I like how it turned out as is anyway!
ReplyDeleteIt's weird seeing Orion with his green skin! Violet has such a cute little delicate face. Was she a townie or was she born in game? I can't remember.
I think my favourite is Blake and Clarice's wedding though. Such a beautiful backdrop. I can never do a decent garden! And it's nice that they're still together as well.
Also, your early weddings were way better than mine! I mean, look at this piece of crap wedding, lol: http://www.sullivansims.com/gottlieb/isaacandpetragetmarried1001.jpg
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this... I love seeing the older pictures from people's hoods... its like digging through a friend's old photo albums.
ReplyDeleteI always think of the lack of CC/bad outfits on old shots the same way I think of past fashions on old r/l photos - an indication of the era, but not necessarily something you'd want to wear these days! When I re-shot the pictures for my prequel, I even found myself ignoring cc in favour of base game clothes and objects, because they captured the feel of the original pictures and the 'era' they were taken in :)
Carla, I'm pretty sure Violet was a download, a long, long way back. She does have interesting features, and I think it's neat that her kids got most of them. Especially Dallas and Delphie.
ReplyDeleteEven of all the weddings I've done now, Blake and Clarice's is still one of my favorites (and not just because they're still together, lol!). I loved the fall lighting in that one, and I've always liked outdoor weddings too! :)
Blackcat, oh, that's a neat way of looking at it! I think you're right, it is a sort of signature of the time they were in! Love that! :)
I love having a look back at their weddings. It's always nice to see who wore what. Sometimes I ask myself "Why did I download that outfit?" lol
ReplyDeleteThey are all lovely. I love the Aurora and Joel wedding. I just do. Thank you for sharing these.
ReplyDeleteRiverdale, lol, me too!
ReplyDeleteBeth, they're a sweet couple - maybe that's the charm? :)
Thanks for reading everyone! :)
What a great throw back post. Thanks for posting it Laura.
