I've only just gotten a start on it here. I need much, MUCH more vegetation still! I've only had an hour or two to spend on it so far. But there are several trees so far, a fish pond, a few birds, and a few stone benches for the soldiers to come here and hang out with nature.
There's also a small plot of garden space to grow some vegetables.
The second level is just a balcony they can walk around. There are some benches up there too.

Dammit, Keri! lol! ;)
No really, I thought I had the doors locked for pets, but I guess the birds don't count?
I will admit, I am a nerd and wanted to see the terrarium! It's coming along from what you've showed so far! I like it. And really does have the zoo rain forrest feel. No, the doors don't lock for birds. They'll fly right through them, but the eventually come back to their cage. Happens to my sims all the time. lol
ReplyDeleteI love this whole idea and I love what you've done so far. The overall atmosphere really has that rain forest feel to it.
ReplyDeleteWhat, no russion dog ? :p
ReplyDeleteIt looks great so far! I love the lighting and the walkways going around the top - very cool. You've kind of given me a couple of ideas for when I eventually do a museum (you know, after all the other projects I want to do!) Maybe I'll put some kind of terrarium in it.
ReplyDeleteI love the picture of Keri with the bird. I forget we have birds sometimes! But LOL, yeah, lamely, the birds can open doors. I wish I could get a hack to stop that.
I'm not sure why, but something about those wood floors just makes the room come alive. It reminds me of a boardwalk almost. The space feels really believable, though! Great job!
ReplyDeleteI love this! The water and the color of the walls and the wood on the floor and the wood UNDER the catwalk, it's all perfect! Sort of reminds me of the jungle exhibit in the US Botanic Garden, and that is a wonderful, magical place. If you get a chance and haven't been there, you should go.
ReplyDeleteThe shot of the bird is pure fabulous!
Thank you, everyone! I'll be happy with it after I add a ton more plants, I think. I wish Sims could have frogs, lol! I knew I had to have the wooden floors though. Wood and stone and plants! :)
ReplyDeleteBeth, we'll definitely check out the Botanic Gardens. I swear we almost walked in there once, but then we went and did something else instead. I'm trying to remember where I was when I saw the rainforest exhibit that inspired this room - a zoo maybe? It must have been, but I can't remember which one. Either Detroit, Toledo, or DC - possibly all of the above? lol!
What a lovely place, and probably so welcome to those on the base. That's too funny about Keri and the bird--I always hated that the birds could escape.
ReplyDeleteThanks Rachel! That's just what I had in mind for this, that it would be comforting to the soldiers on base. Or at least, it's something I imagine I would like if I were trapped on the moon, lol! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I really like this so far! I have a zoo on my project list and I wouldn't have known how to even start an exhibit like this. LOL at the bird escaping. Those birds are sneaky. I had one flying around my downtown mall and nearly took off one of my sim's heads.
ReplyDeleteThanks Dani! Oooh, a zoo is a terrific idea! I bet you could find a lot of neat animal CC too, even if they were sculptures and didn't move, lol!
ReplyDeleteOoh this looks great! I love the rain forest exhibits at the zoos, especially when they let the list fall. This totally captured it, but it has a more concrete, fake feel to it. Which I think is perfect considering they are on the moon.
ReplyDeleteMaisie, thanks! It was really fun to do! I still need to add some more plants, but I think it'll turn out just how I imagined it! :)
