last year

This week, one year ago, it was October of 2074 in Lakeside Heights. Also around this time, three years ago, it was the year 2006, and Lakeside Heights was born. Now let that boggle your mind! ;)

One year has passed since I've been blogging Lakeside Heights. When we started, the Jackson twins had just turned twelve - Beau already had his eye set on taking over his father's arcade and Tyler had his eye set on Bella Bradshaw (and didn't they all...). Dallas Deppiesse went under the knife in the name of teenaged conformity (would Lucy still love him if he hadn't done it?). And Meadow Lind was jonesing for some grandbabies (now she has three!).

They've all come a long way, and so has this blog. I've learned to turn off my plumbbobs and headlines. I've learned how to screen-cap, and install lighting and camera mods, post bigger pictures and host them at photobucket. And I learned it all from reading your blogs, so thank you!

Happy Birthday to Lakeside Heights. Thank you for indulging me with my silly stories. I've had a lot of fun sharing them with you all :)

  2. Wow. Happy Birthday to this blog! I may have only recently started reading just some months ago, but I tell you, I come every day because I know there's usually an update. So, I thank you for that. Again, Happy Birthday LH!

  4. Wow, one year, and look how far you and the blog has come. I'm glad you started to share you rwonderful sims with us, and I'm tickled pink that I found your blog to be entertained by. And I'm still trying to figure out how to post larger pics without having to resize them from photobucket, lol.

  5. Happy birthday! Here's to many more!

I still remember how thrilled I was when I found your blog. I kept my computer on for a couple of days with the browser still open while I was going through all your back entries!

  6. It makes my day to see a post for Lakeside Heights. And I am slowly but surely reading through the old posts, by links and by going back in the archives.

screen-capping is a new word to me...what is it?

Thanks for sharing your sims and stories with us!

  8. Apple, thanks! Hmmm, that's a good question! I think I started the blog because, for one, I saw that other people were doing it. And also, it's a lot more fun to share it, than to just play it on my own - I spent so much time cracking myself up and thinking, OMG, somebody else has to think this is funny!

    Pau, thank you! :)

    oookonxooo, thanks! :)

Riverdale, thanks! I resize all of my pictures in Photoshop first, and then upload them to Photobucket. It does take a little more time, but I usually want to do some cropping or retouching to at least a couple of them anyways.

Sullivan, thanks! I'm always flattered that people want to go back and read them all. I'm glad they're that entertaining :)

Francesca, thanks! Screen-capping is using screen capturing software to print the screen, rather than using the in-game camera, because it takes a clearer picture. I use Snag-it. There are links in my lighting and cameras post, in the sidebar.

    Shana, thank you! :)

  9. I do resize mine in PaintShop, but I end up having to switch to HTML in Blogger to resize them again to fit the screen on my blog. I have no idea why I have to do it twice. *sigh* Oh, well, I'll just keep on doing it. lol

  11. Wow, you've had this hood a long long time. I can only hope to retain my enthusiasm for as long ... What's your plan for when Sims 3 comes? Are you converting everyone to Sims 3?

  12. pieridae, thanks! I do love being able to look back through the updates! :)

simstate, I'll definitely bring some of my Sims over to Sims 3, eventually, after they've worked out some good mods for it ;) Not all of them though. I'll probably pick four or five families to found the new neighborhood - and that's assuming we can even play multiple families like I do here. If we can't, then I'm probably not going to be interested.
