Lake County Hall

October 2079, Bryson and Madison Riley are 57.

***Just a little bit of an update here. I wanted to show you the new County Hall, and Madison's plans for her term as mayor.***

Lake County Hall, on a rainy day. (building by sunni)

The Mayoral Home, in downtown Lake City. (downloaded, can't remember where from?) Madison Riley, and her husband Bryson will live in Lake City, conveniently right across the street from the County Hall, and is also conveniently (and coincidentally) next door to the Riley Estates Building.

Madison hires Phoenix McCullough to take photographs for the office doors in the Hall.

Five county officials have offices in the County Hall: Madison Riley, Claire Bradshaw, Brady Lind, Cabe Deppiesse, and Micah Phoenix.

(Meadow Lind has her offices in Collins Hall on the LCU campus, and Berjes Monif has his offices in the Lake County Memorial Hospital)

The first floor is the lobby and cashier's office, where residents of Lake County can purchase marriage licenses, and pay court charges or other fines.

The speech hall is also where civil marriage ceremonies are held, and Madison gives her first speech as Mayor: "We will not be focusing on cinema," she says. "We have too much else to do!"

Cabe Deppiesse and Claire Bradshaw are not really paying attention, but instead, Cabe says, "I was thinking about violin lessons for little Natalia." And Claire says, "Oh, my Amelia took violin lessons in college and she really enjoyed them." You know, Claire and Cabe are actually half-siblings, though because of the distance in the Deppiesse family, they've never really had a chance to catch up with each other.

Nobody is really listening, but Madison's speech goes on, and the following are some of Madison's plans for her term as mayor:

Tax rebates to new qualified crafting businesses ($5000). The county encourages robotics and toy-crafting.

Government-subsidized housing and shop space in the south end of Lake City. Lots will be reduced in price by $5000. Government-subsidized apartments are also available.

Taxes due! First round of taxes due by April of 2080. Net personal worth and investments are taxed 20% (-$500 for married couples, -$1000 for every eligible child or dependent). Businesses are not taxed, but any profit brought home from business will be taxed. The property taxes will become a vital part of promoting growth in Lake County.

Renovation of area parks and public spaces, and equipment upgrades: to include Lake City North and South, Shadow Woods Metropark, Hazel Park, North Beach, Lakeside Beach East and West, Lakeside Heights Community Center, Hunter's Park, and Bluewater Township Community Center.

LOL, poor Madison - she was pouring her heart out to those people and they're just gossiping about their kids :)

These are Madison's promises as the new mayor, so in four years, you can judge her based on how much she's accomplished, and maybe she'll be re-elected as mayor, and maybe she won't ;)

  2. Is the city hall a owned lot or just community? It's a awesome building though. I was looking to upgrade my city hall and I think you just helped me out. :)

  3. Your county hall looks great! Poor Madison. Maybe she should try to find a way to spice up her speeches so people will listen to her instead of talking about their kids. ;)

  4. I am constantly blown away by the level of detail in your gameplay. I know, I've probably told you that before, but it awes me the way you keep up with so many different Sims AND maintain an organized community for them.

  5. Monique, thanks! Don't be jealous, I've been working on it for a long long time ;)

Riverdale, it's an owned community lot.

    Shana, she should! :)

Beverly, thank you! *blushing* I've been at this hood for about two and a half years, so if it's detailed, then that's why. But about keeping up with all those Sims, lol, 93 of them is getting a bit out of hand, to be honest. This is the most I've ever had at one time. I think I'm going to put my whole hood on iron-clad birth control for the next round. No more babies for a little while! :)
