October, 2074, Berjes and Hailey are 30, Hazel is 5.

The Monif family live in an adorable little house in the Hazel Park subdivision of Lakeside Heights. Not named after their daughter Hazel, of course, but they do find it amusing.

Dr. B. Monif is the Lake City Metro area's most prominent plastic surgeon and owns a practice in the Lakeside Heights city center. With his help, many Sims have become a little less fugly over the years. Berjes met his beautiful wife Hailey in college, and being a training cosmetic surgeon, beauty was a definite plus on her part. Not that Berjes is so superficial - he also likes Hailey because she's nice.

Hailey works part-time as an adoption caseworker. She tries to be handy around the house, but she's not very good at it. She tried staying home for a while when Hazel was a baby but found that she's not much of a housewife. She can't really cook either. Lately she's had this itch to write a novel, but she's not very creative. She started one anyway and she's thinking about calling it The Diary of a Mediocre Suburban Mom, and we'll see if she gets past the first three paragraphs. But did we mention that she's nice? She's really, really nice.

Hazel is a playful and outgoing little girl, and is excited to be starting kindergarten. She meets
Natalia Deppiesse in her kindergarten class, as well as a neighborhood boy named Neil, and she invites them home for a game of darts. Hazel adores darts! But Hazel doesn't really seem to get along well with these other children. It seems she has a bit of an abrasive personality.

Berjes finally gets around to finishing Hazel's bathroom downstairs, as well as remodeling her bedroom for her 5th birthday. Not a hugely eventful year for the Monif family, but then, they can't all be.
I wonder how many gamedays a year amounts to?
