After almost twenty years of service, Aurora Miguel, of Lakeside Heights, will put her boutique,
Jolie, Jolie, up for auction. She cites personal reasons for her decision, though it is known she'll be running for office this fall.
The popular boutique and salon has been a mecca of fashion in the Lake County area, pulling a much-coveted, strong customer base that spans many age groups and social classes.
The building contains a large main shop floor, two salon stations, an employee's lounge, and manager's lounge, with a sewing machine and Carly's messed up curtains ;)
The structure itself is quite old, but in great condition. Bidding will start at $64,177. The land space is 2x2, zoned for commercial purposes, and is designed to fit on a corner lot.
(Couldn't get it to package without the Phone Line Controller from MATY, so as always, use your
Clean Installer to install this.)
The only CC included is a
black edge smoother by Ailias.
All EPs required, probably, and relies heavily on the H&M stuff pack.

In other news, Malcolm Landgrabb VI, of Bluewater Township, was accused of inappropriate conduct with a minor. The minor child is a thirteen year-old girl from Lakeside Heights, and her family have refused to release her name. Both parties claim there was no romantic involvement, though witnesses testify to some inappropriate physical contact. Her family are not sure yet if they'll be pressing charges.
Mr. Landgrabb would not comment on the allegations except to say that he claims the girl said she was sixteen.
Shame, shame!

notes: thank you to lepifera (in the comments here) for a brilliant idea! I was able to save both the Lakeside Heights Public School (at least, the version just before I made over the gym and classrooms, which will save me a bunch of work!), and Jolie, Jolie.
Though because story happened, I won't be giving Jolie, Jolie back to Aurora. What's done is done as far as this story is concerned, and we'll carry on as we were going to. But I figured, if I'm not going to play the store, you all might as well have it ;)
And I don't know about anybody else's game, but in mine, Malcom Landgrabb is really pervy! He's always hitting on young girls, and hanging out at the Love Shack! But man, this takes the cake! She's only thirteen! Eeew!
That is very generous of you, to put Jolie, Jolie up for download. Without Aurora's business savvy, it just won't be the same though.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to save the school, although the work you put into the gym looked like a lot, it will be better than nothing!
Malcolm Landgrabb isn't in my game, thankfully. That's really gross!
So glad it worked - and thanks for the download!
ReplyDeleteIts especially good that the school is safe - and this means you can save any future community lots, if the same error hits again... I agree, it's a brilliant idea!
As for the story, maybe the sale to the sports equipment guy could fall through. Aurora and Carley have both made their decisions, but the shop could be sold to someone (playable or as an unowned community lot) who wants to keep it how it is.
Malcolm Landgrabb is somewhere non-playable in my game, I've seen him on community lots but not doing anything like this!!
Aww, I'm sorry you had to give it up, but congrats about the school!
ReplyDeleteAh, good old Malcolm Landgrabb, I love the creeper mustache you gave him :P
Francesca, I don't remember the gym and classrooms taking too long, maybe two or three hours? It should be quicker to recreate than it was to build the first time around. I'm just happy to do a simple little add-on, rather than rebuild and decorate from scratch. It's always the decorating that takes longer for me.
ReplyDeleteBlackcat, yes, and it was quite easy too! I feel a little less afraid of playing my community lots now :)
Tessa, I know, lol! Doesn't the mustache just complete the package? He's had that facial hair for a while now, so I must have already had that impression of him, lol!
I'm glad - relieved - that you found it easy, given that I gave the instructions for swapping to the backup... I know how unpopular I'd be if I killed your hood! :)
ReplyDeleteI love that they hung up Carly's messed up curtains! And thank you, I'm totally downloading this! I'm so glad you were able to save Jolie Jolie and the school. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Malcolm Landgraab - always knew he was a creep. Stay away from Ryanne! I missed the moustache until Tessa pointed it out. That so completes the dirty old man look!
Blackcat, lol, you might have had a few angry people show up on your doorstep! :)
ReplyDeleteCarla, ugh, yes, dirty old man! The game doesn't really set him up to be anything other than creepy, living in that big house all on his own.
I thought it was odd when it happened, so I checked their chemistry, and it was 80-something, almost three-bolts. Now watch her start rolling wants for him because of one stupid hug, and set off some twisted Lolita kind of storyline, lol! Ack! I'm gonna have to have Grandma Sophie knock some sense into that girl!
I'm glad you were able to save Jolie, Jolie and your school! The store looks great and I think I may have to download it and add it to Arcadia because the clothing store that's currently there is terrible. I plan for Terri Gates to eventually own her own clothing store, so this would be perfect. Thanks for offering it to us! :)
ReplyDeleteAnd ack! Stay far away from that creepy Malcolm Landgraab, Ryanne! I hadn't even noticed the mustache until Tessa pointed it out, but it finishes off the pervy look nicely, lol!
LOL on the "creeper mustache" I agree, nice touch. He is sleezy, and no longer in my game.
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to use your back up! I have these back ups, and no notion on what the heck you do with them. Thank goodness I've never needed too. *knocking on wood*
It sure is a nice looking boutique, we don't always get to see the entire picture of lots in story telling.
Love the boutique. That's one thing I still miss from TS 3 : OFB.
ReplyDeleteShana, oooh, I'd love to see Terri running it in Arcadia! I'm glad some of you guys will be able to put it to good use since my own story is headed in a different direction now :)
ReplyDeleteMaisie, yes, it's always very enlightening to see a lot out of storytelling mode. It's probably a lot less fancy than I can make it appear in pictures, lol!
M.J., oooh, I would SO miss OFB! It gives me headaches sometimes, but it was definitely one of the most useful and versatile EPs for the game!
