LCU, a lesson in biology

LCU, spring semester, 2082 (last semester, fall 2081)

Keri just HAS to see this house, all the way out in the freaking suburbs! She's still not over it all, and says, "I can't believe you got married. You, got married! Not even a year ago, you didn't even want to live with him, so you married him?"

"He grew on me," Mariah says. "What can I say?"

Keri says, "And I can't believe you got yourself knocked up, haven't you ever heard of birth control???"

"It's a really pretty house though," Keri says. "Man you guys must have one hell of a mortgage payment! Does he even make any money?"

"Keri, I'm pretty sure he can hear you," Mariah says.

"I'm on city council now," Micah says. "I make a little bit of money."

"Wow, that was fast," Justin says.

It was fast. Less than a year out of college and he's plopped right into city council. Micah would like to point out that he is actually really smart, and charismatic, and intuitive, but none of that really matters, because as Keri points out, "Oh, mom's crush," she says.

Justin says, "Dude, are you serious?"

Micah says, "It's not funny, I would have been a really good campaign manager."

Mariah says, "Yeah, but you know, all that one-on-one, alone time. You know he makes her blush and everything. She's got her big re-election coming up next year. She wouldn't be able to concentrate."

Micah says, "I'm like, right here! Do we have to talk about this right now?"

So with that, Justin and Keri head back to campus. Keri says, as they're leaving, "I don't even know how to hug you, you're like a beach ball!"

"Thanks, Keri," Mariah says. Mariah is thinking her sister is snarky even for herself tonight, it seems.

Mariah says, "I think you would have made a great campaign manager, honey."

Maybe there's something to their mother's crush on Micah? He is apparently so adorable that he's left quite the impact on campus! People are still talking about those legendary dimples almost a year after he's been gone!

Keri says, "Oh my God, are they talking about Micah?"

"I know, what is it about that guy?" Justin says. "And how come your mom doesn't have a crush on me?"

Keri says, "She does, babe. But you know he's got the dimples working for him."

Justin is working really hard in his final semester of senior year, except for breaks to play with his new robot! He found a really neat new robotics store in town. And oooh, robots!

Keri is positively on fire this semester! Not because she wants to be studious or anything, but just because she wants to be done with it all. She works hard - or at least hard for Keri - to accomplish the absolute bare minimum to finish two units of coursework this semester, and that finally catches her up with the semester she lost.

But there's just something about Keri this semester. Keri is always a snob, but she's blowing "snob" right out of the ball-park lately! She's redefining the word!

Justin learned to bow in Takemizu, and he's taken to bowing down to her first thing in the morning, almost every morning. He learned it's a gesture of reverence, for the beautiful woman he loves. If only she appreciated that...

Every married woman in the universe would like to reach out and smack her right now! We all understand, even if it's weird, when your husband wants to BOW DOWN TO YOU in the morning, you let him! It's just that simple!

Justin usually lets her moods roll right by him, but this kind of sucks, he'll have to admit. This isn't like his Keri, who is normally bitchy in a funny way. She doesn't just have a stick up her ass right now, she has the whole damn tree!

But oooh, robots!

They can decorate this apartment all they like, but it's still on campus, where their neighbors are noisy and drunk most of the time. Just look at this guy! And now with Justin graduating, Keri is just so over college life! Maybe she's been over college the whole time she's been here. She says to llama dude, "What are you doing in my kitchen?"

But she feels bad. Yes, Keri is capable of small amounts of empathy, and she knows she's been an epic bitch to her poor, poor husband.

Bitchy, and craving copious amounts of Chinese take-out! Justin isn't going to say anything, because he knows you don't talk about a woman's weight and all, but he's wondering if maybe she might want to cut back a little? You know, all the trans fats and monosodium glutamate.

But regardless, he thinks she looks beautiful. She's glowing even!

The next morning, Keri runs downstairs from the bathroom, screaming, "What the HELL!!! Justin, JUSTIN! What the hell! What is this??? Look at it! Just look at it!"

"That is a pregnancy test," he says.

"It says plus sign. I'm on BIRTH CONTROL!"

Justin says, "Super sperm, baby! Super sperm!"

Justin is just secretly glad she wasn't getting fat from all that Chinese take-out, and even more so, he's glad there's a reason for this epically-bitchy Keri, and that he'll get his normal, just-a-little-bit-bitchy Keri back in nine more months.

Oh, what a nine months it's going to be!

Plans: Justin will continue executive management within the Riley Estates Company, while still hoping to eventually pursue a career in corporate business. He was planning to stay on campus while his wife finishes her degree, but recent news has prompted them to start browsing local real estate listings. They're considering the Stoneview Court area of Lake City, which we would like to point out, is not really much different than living in the suburbs! ;)

notes: OMG! I would just like to say that I did have her on some pretty super duty birth control, so man, oh man, those must be some super sperm, Justin! LOL!
I've been using 4% for as long as I can remember, and never had a problem with this many surprise pregnancies. I'd say we have something of a pregnancy epidemic in Lakeside Heights! (Though most of them have been married, so maybe you can't call that an epidemic? lol!)

Their apartment building is family-equipped, but Keri hates it there - she makes the most loathesome faces every time a cheerleader or llama or random student barges into her apartment! So they'll be shopping for real estate soon. I was considering Stoneview Court for them, but then I remembered that Steph and Jeremiah are moving back to Lakeside Heights, and Mariah and Micah are there too, so maybe I will move them out to the suburbs - oh how she'd love that! ;)

Baby Riley-Kim is due around February 2083!

Not surprisingly, poor Keri is just not up to the grueling demands of pregnancy! This might be the hardest job she ever has, lol! And she can't pay someone to do this for her... well, she actually could have hired a surrogate, we suppose, but it's too late for that now ;)

And, eeew, right by the trash can!

*** And I guess an impromptu mini-update on the Buchanans, because we love Micah and Mariah :) ***

This has always been one of my favorite houses. I've had it forever, and it's really expensive :)

Their neighbors behind are the Phoenix family (both Hayden and his parents), diagonal are Nathan and Ally Lind, to the right are Adam and Heather Thompson. This is one of the most popular areas of Lakeside Heights and lots of families live around them :)

Across the street from them is Violet Deppiesse's, the Lit' Cafe.

This WAS one of my very favorite houses, because of the split level open floor plan, but then I installed the lighting mod, and now it just looks funky. I can't figure out a combination of lighting to balance light between the two levels anymore, either night or day :(

Is anyone else able to play a split level home with lighting mods in place? Any tips?

But onto the topic of legendary dimples...

As you can see, he doesn't really have dimples, though there is the slightest little shadow of an indent on his cheek, just outside the corner of his mouth. So I figured as much as I've written these dimples into the story, I might as well try to find some. There was only one make-up set I could find, which looked horrible! All the others were painted onto the skintone. Anybody seen any others around? Think like Scott Wolf or Matthew McConaughey kind of cheek dimples ;)

Maybe I'll try to make some myself.
But can we all just take a moment to hope that their baby gets those pretty green eyes! Love Micah! :)

Keri says, "Okay, so I guess I kind of see why you married him."

I never get sick of the "react to sleeper" expression :)

Micah says, "Oh my Good God, those are huge! It's like my birthday or something!"

Happy pregnancy, Micah! Enjoy them while they last! I don't think he even knows where to start! ;)
