Maybe two lonely failures only equates to a whole lot of fail together, or is it one of those cases where two negatives make a positive? But this isn't math class though, just chemistry, and we're still waiting to find out whether they're meant to be for one night, or for good.

I wanted to steal this note out of the comments and highlight it so that everyone knows what I'm talking about here, since it seems not everyone (or maybe even most) don't use any of the attraction bonuses in their games.
I hope it's not too confusing when I talk about natural chemistry vs. romance bonus chemistry. What I call "natural chemistry" is just their attraction score as it comes by default - just the computation of their aspiration/zodiac/personality/turn-ons, with no bonuses added on.
There are several kinds of attraction bonuses in the game, but the massive attraction from Freetime is the only one I use. (The others I don't use might include the genie's lamp, the beauty juice, love potion, and the vacation reward bonus - these ones are also all temporary, which is probably why I don't use them.)
I like to think of the massive attraction bonus in terms of "sex appeal," where a Sim with a romance bonus might seem more attractive, or more sexy, like with Amelia and Corbin, for example. But it's not always as stable or solid as a naturally high connection.

This was fun, I'm always astonished by your top 3, those base numbers are just astronomical. I don't think I've seen above 140 in my game, base. I'm going to check everyone again, cause when you talk numbers, I always get curious.

ReplyDeleteAre you using the Freetime romance bonus? It's worth 40 points for each Sim who has it, and a lot of these couples do have it in at least one of the pair.
But some are all "natural chemistry" - Jack and Nessa, Justin and Keri, Amelia and Drew, Hayden and Piper, Adam and Heather, and Micah and Mariah.
The highest natural chemistry I've seen in my game would be alternate reality Corbin and Leila when their turn-ons matched (because in this reality, their turn-ons are not matched), and even without their romance bonuses, they were 161.

But still, it's pretty close to what she has with her husband, so I can understand how the situation is totally confusing, feeling such a strong attraction to both of them.

I'm always blown away to see anything about 200, because it's definitely rare. Corbin and Leila are equal to my Mina and Pascal (well, when he was alive!). And there was definitely a lot of passion there, although as with Corbin and Leila, it was due to the romance bonus as well.
Still, I love that picture of Leila and Matt, how she's looking up at him so adoringly. It makes me kind of sad. :(
Sigh. And Summer and Tyler. Aw.

It's so very rare! Corbin and Leila were the first I'd ever found above 200, as long as I've been playing with chemistry at all!
But Leila and Matt were together already even back when I first learned to check chemistry levels, and I knew they were very high from the start. I always thought they'd be my highest though, until Corbin came along. Whoa, surprise!

Billy, you guys have probably seen how a lot of these couples met. And yes, most of them do just meet by chance (Corbin and Leila), or through friends (Justin and Keri), or through work (Jodie and Berjes), or school (Adam and Heather), or at a party (Micah and Mariah), or on the street in front of her house (Amelia and Drew) lol! It's always quite shocking for me when it happens.
I don't know what it is about my game. I always seem to have a lot more three-bolters than most people have. I think it's just because I have so many Sims for them to choose from. I do use the "massive attraction" bonus as well for my romance Sims, and that helps.
Of course Valerie is his highest. I told y'all she was his queen ;)

Although I don't have as many Sims as Laura does, so 20 couples is almost all of mine, past and present, lol. So I think I'll edit my list down to the top 10 instead. :)
